Roads get steeper and twister as they climbs towards the Monte Limbara, a high mountain surmounting the town of Tempio, with a wide variety of wildlife and flora. Of special naturalistic relevance is the National Park of La Maddalena, with four main islands (La Maddalena, Caprera, Santo Stefano, Spargi) along with other lesser ones, among which the renowned Budelli with its pink sand beach.
